2007 Criteria for Events

Themes

Our aim this year is to emphasise the theme of sustainability in all events associated with London Sustainability Weeks, hence the motto: ‘Love London, Love Your Planet.’ We will be as flexible as possible by incorporating a diverse range events and groups across London. However, it is important that the event should:

• Focus in some way on green, social and/or sustainability issues.
• Involve community participation
• The event should be relevant to London

Publicity

It is also important that events organisers emphasise that their event is part of LSW in order to promote the campaign. This would involve:

• Displaying at least two LSW posters at their event
• Mentioning LSW in any press releases
• Linking to the LSW website

We aim to provide posters, banners, leaflets and booklets as part of the events pack. These branding techniques will help to make it clear that the events are part of a larger pan-London network of events.

In return we will support your event through:

• The LSW website
• The LSW guide
• Tube Posters
• Newspaper and Magazine advertising and coverage.
• We will also provide free training, give away goodies and volunteers to help with the event.
• Pledge forms and free gifts will again be available this year, but we must emphasise that pledge forms must be completed and returned to us as soon after the event as possible.

Climate Talk

'Climate Talk' is our Climate change card game, which we are keen for events organisers to participate in. The game aims to make people think about Climate Change issues and positive actions. The game is meant for adults (although there is a children's version) it is an educational aid and needs to be played in a group. It takes between 30 mins and 1 hour. We will provide a training kit, and possibly a volunteer to help during the event.
