World Environment Day is here again on the 5th of June and the
Environment Agency's Mend of the World campaign starts now. Last
year over 58,000 people made more than 408,000 promises for World
Environment Day. This means in one year we have saved:
- 613
Olympic sized swimming pools full of water
- 9.5 million plastic
carrier bags
- carbon dioxide equivalent to driving 6,327 times
round the Earth
- 298 tonnes of batteries
- and given 101 working
years' worth of time to a green community project.
This year we're
asking you three simple questions to help combat climate
change:
- What's the number one thing you are doing
to help tackle climate change?
- What one extra thing could you do
to help tackle climate change?
- What's stopping you?
Join
thousands of people in this national survey by going to www.mendoftheworld.org
and together we can really make a difference in tackling climate
change.
