Eco Tips for Climate Change
Look out for articles on Radio or TV about Climate Change and talk to family and friends about the subject.
Turn down central heating by 1°C. This is likely to cut heating bills by about 5%.
Try not to drive to the supermarket more than once a week, and instead walk or cycle to local shops.
Make sure that all electrical appliances are never left on standby and that lights are switched off in rooms you are not using and before leaving the house.
Buy low energy light bulbs to make sure that they are used in all rooms that are regularly used.
Before buying any electrical appliances, check that they are energy efficient with an A rating on the label (A+ or A++ for fridges).
Whenever possible, choose food that has been grown locally and in an environmentally friendly way, such as organically.
If you have children, make sure that they cycle or walk to school, rather than going by car.
Buy recycled products and re-use my old plastic carrier bags whenever you can.
