London boasts some cutting edge sustainable buildings and some great examples will be open to view throughout the festival. You don’t have to build a new eco-house to be more sustainable. However, with a little creativity you can make a real difference.
Under the Better Homes theme this year there are lots of inspiring events from a cutting edge design tour through to furniture schemes, ideas on how to adapt your home, sustainable fashion and even a nappuccino! (What’s that? See below!)
London 21 Chairman Chris Church said: “Over a quarter of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions come from our homes. Many of the Love London events will give people the chance to get up-to-date and effective advice and ideas on how they can cut down on their energy waste and make their own homes good examples of low-carbon living.”
Clare Allman, marketing manager, Ecover UK comments: “At Ecover we believe that an ethical lifestyle starts at home, so we’re delighted to be sponsoring Love London’s ‘Better Homes’ themed events this year. As a pioneering, sustainable business we feel that ecological cleaning is the choice to make for your ethical lifestyle. We make washing and cleaning products that really work and have a minimum impact on the environment, so you can start making a difference from your home. There are loads of great events taking place during the festival, a few of which Ecover will be involved in: Holland Park Environment Day, Green Matters at Brent Cross Shopping Centre and Chiswick House Kitchen Garden Open Day, so come and see us to find out more.”
