The London Fairtrade Campaign and Love London

The London Fairtrade Campaign is proud to be a supporting partner of London Sustainability Weeks.

 

2008 is the year that London will be declared the world’s largest Fairtrade city. It is a busy time for the London Fairtrade Campaign and we hope that all our supporters will help with the final push in our campaign.

 

London has challenging targets to reach in order to become the world’s largest Fairtrade City, but prominent suppliers and users of Fairtrade products, including Divine Chocolate, CafeDirect, The Co-operative and KPMG are working together with the London boroughs (lead borough Lambeth), the GLA, Oxfam and the Fairtrade Foundation to make this happen.

 

Get involved in the campaign by:

  • Telling us about outlets in your area that sell Fairtrade

  • Pledging your support for the London Fairtrade Campaign and be in with a chance to win a Fairtrade hamper

  • Going to a Fairtrade event during Love London

London Fairtrade Campaign Film Festival 2008

The 2nd Fairtrade London Campaign Film Festival, which last year saw sell out audiences at cinemas across London, will take place during Love London. There will be screenings of a variety of films that show how unfair trade practices affect the lives of producers and growers across the developing world. There will be speakers at several screenings debating why Fairtrade is important and the huge impact Fairtrade has. For full programme details see www.fairtradelondon.org.uk
